The George Washington University (GW, GWU, or George Washington) is a private, coeducational examination college situated in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood of Washington, D.C. with two different grounds including the Mount Vernon grounds in the Foxhall neighborhood, and the Virginia Science and Technology grounds in Loudoun County, Virginia. GW is the biggest establishment of advanced education in the District of Columbia. George Washington, the first president of the United States, had shown to Congress through different letters, and his last will and confirmation, that he needed to build up a college inside of the country's capital. Washington left fifty shares of the Potowmack Company in his home for a national college in the District of Columbia. However, because of the organization's money related status, the college never got the shares.
